Sub: Duty rosters for level crossings.
Ref: - Hours of employment regulation employment.
As per IRPWM para no 902, the level crossings should be classified as under:
Special Class level crossingsfor roads - TVUs greater than 50,000
A class level crossings for roads
VUs from 50,000 & up to 30,000; or Line capacity utilization 80% (on single line) and number of road vehicles greater than 1000
B class level crossings for roads
TVUs less than 30,000 and up to 20,000 and number of road vehicles greater than 750.
C class level crossings for roads
All other level crossings for road, not covered in above classes
1. Duty roster shift of gateman for "Special" class level crossings is 08hrs shift and for balance other category is 12hours shift.
2. For "A" & "B" class level crossings duty roster is 12 hours with following conditions:
a) "A" & "B" class Level crossings having quarters within 500 m from level crossings, duty rosters will be 12 hours with one day weekly off i.e. 72 duty hours per week.
b) "A" & "B" class Level crossings having quarters more than 500 m from level crossings, duty rosters will be 12 hours with two days weekly off i.e. 60 duty hours per week.
3. For all "C" class level crossings duty roster is 12 hours with one day weekly off i.e. 72 duty hours per week.
