Attention is drawn to Board's letter No. E(LL)/2009/HER/1 dated 07.10.2016 wherein (F/x the existing statutory/ administrative provisions pertaining to rest of running staff were reiterated. Attention is also drawn to Board's letter No. E(LL)/2016/ HPC/7 dated 13.10.2016 laying down X that the limit of "Stay away" from Headquarters for Running Staff should be fixed at 72 hours and also that call notice period should continue to be a part of the Headquarter/outstation rest.

Sub:- Revised entitlement of Hospital Wards for Railway Medical beneficiaries in Railway empanelled Hospitals.

Ref:- Railway Board's letter of even no. dated 20.11.2023.

The issue of revision of entitlement of wards in Railway empanelled hospitals for Railway medical beneficiaries as contained in Para 5 of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) circulated vide Board's letter of even no, dated 20.11.2023 has been under consideration of this Ministry.

Keeping in view the revised guidelines circulated by M/o Health & Family Welfare, the matter has been examined in consultation with Finance Directorate of this Ministry and it has been decided that revised criteria for entitlement of wards in Railway empanelled hospital for Railway medical beneficiaries will be as under:

S.No.  Corresponding basic pay drawn by the officer in 7th CPC per month.       Entitlement

1. Upto 36,500/-                        General Ward

2. 36,501/- to ₹50,500/-             Semi-Private Ward

3. Above ₹ 50,500/-                     Private Ward

This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.

Sub: Addition of some new pension categories under OPS- reg.

The undersigned is directed to convey the approval of competent authority and to say that the following four categories of pension have been created in CPAO system –

3.	Compassionate Allowance Case	R
4.	Absorption Pension Case (Pro rata Pension)	P

The categories mentioned above have been made live in CPAO. The banks need to process pension cases of these categories on receipt of the same.

In view of above, Heads of CPPCs/GBDs of all Authorized Banks are hereby directed to upgrade/update their system in order to consume new formats of SSA/e-SSAs for above mentioned categories. The xml/pdf files along with technical documents for incorporation of the same is already shared via e-mail on 10.04.2024 to all the concerned.

Sub.: Holding of Selections for promotions to Group 'B' post of Law Officer on the Railways - Authorities for setting up of Question Papers and evaluation of Answer Sheets.

Ref.: Board's letters no. E(GP)2018/2/31 dt.19.03.2019, 20.07.2020 and 13.12.2021.

Please refer to instructions contained in Board's letters no. E(GP)2018/2/31 dt.19.03.2019, 20.07.2020 and 13.12.2021 regarding authorities for setting up the question papers and evaluation of answer sheets for written examinations held as part of Selections/LDCEs including pre-qualifying examination of LDCES for promotion to Group 'B' posts. It has now been decided by the Board that for holding Selections for promotions to Group 'B' post of Law Officer, HAG/SAG officer of any department with law background on the concerned Railway or contiguous Railway may be nominated for setting up the Question Paper as well as for carrying out the evaluation work, with approval of the concerned General Manager.

2. This also disposes of reference received from Central Railway vide their letter no.P/CR/HQ/Gaz-Sel./260/4/LO/Selection-2 dt. 26.02.24.
