Sub: Female employees in Railways Step to redress gender specific issues.

Ref: (i) PNM AIRF Item no. 46/2018 and Item no. 27/2025.
(ii) PNM NFIR Item no. 23/2015.

Federations (AIRF and NFIR) vide their Agenda Items under reference have brought to the attention of this office that the requests of female employees for change of categories on account of gender specific hardships, being faced by them at their work places, are not being dealt with due diligence.

The matter has been examined in Board's office and Railways are directed to ensure work places under their jurisdictions to be gender neutral providing just and humane working conditions for the staff and promptly attend to any issues which might create hardship to a specific gender at their work places.

Accordingly, Zonal Railways/PUs are advised to deal with any such issues on their merits for a suitable intervention to alleviate gender specific distress among employees.

महाप्रबंधक (कार्मिक),
सभी क्षेत्रीय रेलें एवं उत्पादन इकाइयां,

विषयः रेलवे में महिला कर्मचारी लिंग संबंधी विशिष्ट मुद्दों के निवारण हेतु कदम।

संदर्भः (i) पीएनएम एआईआरएफ मद सं. 46/2018 और मद सं. 27/2025.

(ii) पीएनएम एनएफआईआर मद सं. 23/2015.

फेडरेशनों (एआईआरएफ और एनएफआईआर) द्वारा अपने संदर्भाधीन एजेंडा मदों के तहत इस कार्यालय के संज्ञान में लाया गया है कि महिला कर्मचारियों द्वारा अपने कार्यस्थलों पर सामना की जा रही लिंग संबंधी विशिष्ट कठिनाइयों के कारण कोटि परिवर्तन के अनुरोध पर सम्यक तत्परता से कार्रवाई नहीं की जा रही है।

इस मामले की बोर्ड कार्यालय में जांच करवाई गई है और रेलों को निर्देश दिये गए हैं कि वे कर्मचारियों को न्यायसंगत और मानवीय कार्य स्थितियां उपलब्ध कराते हुए वे अपने अधिकार क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत आने वाले कार्यस्थलों को लिंग-निरपेक्ष बनाएं और ऐसे किसी भी मुद्दे पर तुरंत ध्यान दें, जिससे कार्यस्थलों पर किसी विशिष्ट लिंग के लिए कठिनाई उत्पन्न कर सकता है।

तदनुसार, क्षेत्रीय रेलों/उत्पादन इकाइयों को सूचित किया जाता है कि वे कर्मचारियों के बीच लिंग संबंधी कठिनाई को कम करने के लिए उपयुक्त हस्तक्षेप हेतु ऐसे किसी भी मुद्दे को उनकी गंभीरता के आधार पर निपटाएं।
