Implementation of provisions of RTI Act, 2005. Order dated 08/02/2024

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA (भारत सरकार)

MINISTRY OF RAILWAY (रेल मंत्रालय)

RAILWAY BOARD

No. RB/RTI/2023/Policy/1

Date: 08/02/2024

1. The General Managers, All Zonal Railways/PSUs/PUs (As per standard mailing list)

2. The Divisional Railway Managers All Zonal Railways

Sub: Implementation of provisions of RTI Act, 2005.

Ref.: (i) Board's letter No. RB/RTI/2023/Policy/1 dated 28.12.2023

Ref.: (ii) SCR's DO No G.50/RTIA/02/2024 dated 16.01.2024

Further to the Board's instructions cited, it may be noted that the existing system/structure of disposal of RTI Applications/Appeals by nominated CPIOS/FAAs of Zonal Railways/PUs/PSUs would necessarily continue. However, as advised earlier, GMs/DRMs would need to closely monitor the same at all levels to ensure appropriate and timely replies, and Railways/Units need to ensure that suitable replies are given as per all prescribed norms & procedures.

It is reiterated that, whenever any information is being provided to the applicant, Section 2(f), 8 and 11 of RTI Act should be strictly adhered to.
