Sub: Abolition of Special Compensatory (Hill Area) Allowance: Implementation of Seventh Central Pay Commission’s recommendations. 
Consequent upon the decision taken by the Government on the recommendations of the Seventh Central Pay Commission, the Special Compensatory (Hill Area) Allowance stands
abolished with effect from 1st July, 2017. This allowance was admissible to Railway employees vide Board’s letter No. F(E)I/2008/AL-4/4 dated 16.09.2008.
