Sub: Provision of Waterless Urinal in Electric locomotives.

Ref: RDSO vide letter No. EL/3.1.10/1 dated 15.02.2024

RDSO vide letter under ref (i), has submitted the status of Prototype approval of Waterless urinal vendors and recommended for further proliferation. The proposal is examined and Board M(T&RS) has approved as under:

(i) PUs shall provide water-less urinals on new locos through procurement against FRS issued by RDSO, procurement quantity being six months locomotive production requirement so that FRS could be further fine tuned based on feedback from the Zonal Railways, if required for further necessary action.

(ii) Zonal Railways shall ensure fitment of 1000 nos. Water-less Urinals procured against RDSO FRS on locos in sheds, against sanctioned RSP in Supplementary Budget 2023-24, as communicated vide Board letter No. 2023/Elect (TRS)441/1 dated 02.01.2024.

(iii) RDSO shall take feedback from Zonal Railways at regular intervals to firm up the FRS further.

All PUs, Zonal Railways & RDSO are advised to take necessary action accordingly.
