Sub: Precautionary measures for S&T sluff while working on / near Track. 

Ref: (i) Rly. lionnEs leiter no. 2015/Sig/Li.Non.Gar../1 did 29.07.2916.

 (ii) Rly. Hoard's letter no. 201ital Cal/S&T/S&T Uniform did 05.032019. 

(iii) Rly. Board's Yardstick letter no. E(NIPP)2021/1/16 did 28.12.2022.

S&T stall have to work on track for maintenance of Signalling gears vit.Track Circuits, Point Machine, Axle Counter and oilier equipment, even in extreme climine conditions, considering the importance of Signalling gears in ensuring safe running of trains. Recently, then: have ken unfortunate incidences, wherein S&T maintenance staff got hirrun over while performing duties. 

2. To avoid such eventualiiies. insiniclions have been issued in past vide references above regarding Uniform and Protective gears for maintenance staff. while working in the field. Zonal Railways arc requesled to ensure implementation & monitoring of these provisions in right earnest in order to minintire & prevent occurrence of such incidences in future. 

3. Further, "Night failure gang" may be created as envisaged in yardsticks issued vide ref. (iii) above so that stall working in day hours may get proper rest. Regular Counseling of staff need to be done at Supervisors and Officers level regarding personal & gear's safety in field and knowledge of stuff on Safety Precautions to be checked during regular inspections also.
