Sub: Retention of Railway accommodation by Railway officers/staff on deputation to IRCON & RVNL-reg.
Attention is invited to Board's letter of even number dated 10.04.2024 whereby Railway officers/staff on deputation to Railway PSUs (KMRCL, RailTel, KRCL, IRCTC, IRCON, RVNL & MRVC) have been permitted to retain their Railway accommodation at previous place of posting up το 31.03.2025.
2. Now, on consideration of requests received from IRCON & RVNL and in exercise of the powers vested in it to make reasonable relaxations in public interest for a class/group of employees in all or any of the provisions regarding house allotment/retention, the Full Board have decided that retention of railway accommodation at previous place of posting by Railway officers/staff on deputation to IRCON & RVNL and in occupation of railway accommodation in areas other than Delhi/NCR may be permitted for a further period of 01 year beyond 31.03.2025 i.e. up to 31.03.2026 adhering to terms and conditions in vogue (as mentioned in Board's letter dated 10.04.24) and subject to the following conditions:-
(1) Railway PSUs would provide leased accommodation to the officers of concerned Railways, for all houses retained by PSUs, as per officer's choice according to Railway priority list, at the rate of lease entitlement for corresponding grade of officers of PSUs. However, if leased accommodation is not being utilized by the Railways, as amount equivalent to leased accommodation or HRA of the officer retaining the accommodation, whichever is higher may be deposited with concerned Zonal Railways by PSUs.
(ii) Further, IRCON and RVNL have to ensure that the amount equivalent to leased accommodation or HRA of the officers (along with arrears till date) retaining the accommodation, whichever is higher, is deposited with concerned Zonal Railway by them, if leased accommodation has not been provided to the concerned Zonal Railways by them.
3. This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
