Sub : Revision in the limits of Children Education Allowance, Hostel Subsidy and Special Allowance for Child Care to women with disabilities.

Ref: (i) Board's letter No.E(W)2017/ED-2/3 dated 13.08.2018;

(ii) Board's letter No.2024/E(W)/ED-2/2 dated 15.04.2024; and

(iii) Board's letter No.E(W)2017/ED-2/4 dated 07.12.2017

Attention is invited to Board's letter cited under Ref. (i) & (ii), whereby Department of Personnel & Training (DoP&T)'s OM No.A-27012/02/2017-Estt. (AL) dated 17.07.2018 containing consolidated instructions for grant of CEA/Hostel Subsidy and modifications thereto respectively, as well as Board's letter cited under Ref. (iii) whereby DoP&T's OM No. A-27012/03/2017-Estt.AL dated 16.08.2017 regarding Special Allowance for Child Care to women with disabilities, were circulated for implementation on the Railways.

2. DoP&T, vide their OM No.A-27012/01/2023-Pers.Policy (Allowance) dated 25.04.2024 have now issued clarification to effect increase in these Allowances by 25%, consequent upon enhancement of Dearness Allowance to 50%. A copy of the same is enclosed.

3. It may be noted that the instructions as contained in DoP&T's OM dated 25.04.2024, shall apply mutatis-mutandis to Railway employees with effect from 1st January 2024. Necessary action may be taken accordingly.

4. This issues with the concurrence of Associate Finance of the Ministry of Railways.
