Subject: Setting up of additional 61 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras at railway stations - regarding

In the pursuit to enhance wellness and welfare of passengers and public visiting railway stations and to promote Government of India's mission to make available quality medicines and consumables (Janaushadhi products) for all, Indian Railways had conceptualized a policy framework to establish Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) in circulating areas and concourses of railway stations vide Commercial Circular no. 12 of 2023 dated 08.08.2023. Accordingly, PMBJKs at 50 locations across IR have successfully commenced operations on 12.03.2024.

2. In continuation to the successful initiative, it has been decided to set up additional PMBJKs at 61 locations as per Annexure A enclosed. The procedure to be followed for setting up of the PMBJKs and the allocation of funds for procurement of the fabricated PMBJK stalls (approximately Rs. 12.23 lakh per stall under PH 53 (umbrella works soft upgradation of stations)) shall be as per CC 12 of 2023 and the detailed design document contained in Board's letter dated 11.11.2023.

3. Accordingly, Zonal Railways are advised to initiate the process for setting up of additional 61 PMBJKs following due procedure, model code of conduct and any other extant guidelines/instructions of Board in general, and the Election Commission of India in specific.
