Sub: Discontinuing of allotment of quarters in Mumbai area

Ref: Meeting held on 15.12.2024 in Railway Board

As per definitive agreement of Dharavi Redevelopment Project Slum Rehabilitation Authority. Government of Maharashtra & RLDA, identified parcel of land of Western Railway in Dadar. Mahim and Matunga area is to be redeveloped and handed over to DRP (a state government entity). Hence as per the meeting held in Railway Board the entire area of MRU colony is to be handed over to Rail Land Development Authority/Dharavi Redevelopment Project Slum Rehabilitation Authority. Out of approximately 19 acres, 12 acres not affecting residential housing has already been handed over on 12.03.2024. Balance area is to be is to be handed over. There are a total of 255 quarters which are still occupied and which need to be vacated.

In view of the above, all further allotments of vacant quarters in Mumbai area may be kept on hold till all the bonafide occupants of Railway quarters in MRU colony are shifted to available habitable quarters in Mumbai area.

Kindly ensure that the above instructions are strictly followed by all the units in Mumbai.
